# Collection Schema

Every Markdown note begins with YAML front matter.

Required metadata: `id` (stable unique slug), `kind` (`breakthrough` or `person`), `title`, `updated` (ISO date), `sources` (list of `{id,url,title,checked}`), and `related` (list of internal note paths relative to collection root). Breakthrough notes also use `contributors` (internal person-note paths); person notes use `breakthroughs`.

The generator parses this deliberately small YAML subset without dependencies. Keep metadata values scalar strings or YAML lists; source entries use the four documented keys. JSON `data/index.json` contains `{schema_version, generated_from, entries}`. Each entry exposes all front matter plus `path`, `content` (full Markdown body without front matter), and `markdown` (the complete note). Deterministic means no timestamps or machine-dependent values are inserted.
